Shipwreck In Greece Becomes Underwater Museum You Can Scuba Through!

Museums can be magical places, full of hidden gems and ancient relics but some take things to another level. This Greek museum took things to another level, an aquatic level below sea level to be specific.

Swim through a history laden shipwreck off the coast of Aegean island of Alonissos.

It's a surreal underwater vestige of 5th century Greek antiquities that play home to tropical fish and is teeming with both character and life.

The site opens from Monday, August 3rd to October 2nd for PADI certified divers. Divers will be following a guide through the wreckage but for those unable to make it their and dive personally, a virtual guided tour will be available so you can still see the treasures that lie beneath.

If scuba diving is on your bookitlist, or you've done it but can't get enough of the underwater adventures then this is a special opportunity to see something not many others will ever have the pleasure of experiencing.

The wreck has been nestled on the ocean bed since around 425BC, making it almost 1,600 years old and in that time the Mediterranean sea-life has inhabited it.
