NYC has long been regarded as one of the most gay-friendly destinations, on the planet, home to the largest LGBTQ+ community in the US and the birthplace of the Pride movement, it is a city with which gay liberation will forever be synonymous.
Held on 28, June 1970 to commemorate the demonstrations that took place the previous year following the police raid of the Stonewall Inn (a gay bar situated in the Greenwich Village neighborhood) NYC’s inaugural pride marked a hugely important moment in the history of gay rights, and to this day, remains one of the best and biggest on the planet, with the most recent edition attracting an incredible 5 million attendees!
Events will begin on June 14 and culminate with the Pride march on June 28, 2020.
If you’re traveling from the UK, numerous airlines offer regular direct flights from London to NYC, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Norwegian Air.
During late June, NYC is usually warm and very sunny, with average daily highs of around 28°C.
