Go to Salar de Uyuni Salt Flats, join Bookitlist on an adventure!

A breath-taking natural phenomenon turns the world’s largest salt flats into a mirror of the sky stretching as far as the eye can see.

The Flattest Place on Earth

In Bolivia, nestled within the Central Andes and just across the border from Chile and Argentina, lie the Salar de Uyuni salt flats.

The flattest place in the world, it used to be a prehistoric lake – with the lake long evaporated, the ground is now home to a thick layer of salt.

During the rainy season (December to April), the flats are transformed into the world’s largest mirror. Nearby lakes overflow to create a shallow layer of water across the flats, and the result is truly stunning. With the sky reflected on the ground, you’ll feel like you’re walking on clouds.
