The annual ranking, published by Resonance Consultancy in partnership with Ipsos, measures what really makes a city stand out—evaluating liveability, lovability, and prosperity. London performed exceptionally across the board:

Second for liveability, thanks to factors like clean air, green spaces, and rental affordability

Second for lovability, based on its vibrant nightlife, food scene, and cultural presence

First for prosperity, looking at education, income, and economic strength

The report calls London “magnetic”—a city that continues to pull in students, creatives, travellers, and global businesses alike. With £16.3 billion in international visitor spending in 2024, it’s not just popular—it’s thriving.

Paris followed closely behind in second place, thanks to its exceptional cultural richness, walkability, strong public transport, and world-famous dining and fashion scenes.

Though it ranked slightly lower in economic measures, the French capital remains one of the world’s most admired and visited cities—effortlessly balancing historical charm with modern vibrancy.
