Travel Experts Warn To Book Early If You Hope To Take A Holiday This Summer!

UK holidays are already in demand for the summer, following a similar boom in 2020 which saw campsites and holiday parks sell out in record time.

After an uncertain and tumultuous 2020 in the travel sector, 2021 is slowly gearing up to be a step in the right direction. As you may have noticed last year domestic trips rocketed in popularity and all trends point towards the same happening for 2021.

It’s likely the lockdown currently in place will remain at least in one form or another until April, so a staycation is looking like your best bet for a break if you hope to get away anytime soon. With that being said, holiday parks and campsites have already seen a sharp increase in bookings and summer bookings are likely to be completely sold out before long.

If you are hoping to get away from it all this summer, we urge you to book sooner rather than later. Sources claim that holiday rental sites such as holidaycottages.co.uk have almost DOUBLED their weekly bookings.

Here are a few fantastic getaways we’ve found that are still available:

Those numbers are not an anomaly either. It seems sites across the board have seen a sharp increase in bookings with some having up to 500% increases in bookings. Missing out on availability isn’t the only risk of leaving it late, another potential is an increase in prices as tour operators bump up the cost to a premium in sync with their lack of availability.

Some users on tour operators facebook pages have been seen complaining, reporting prices doubling within a few day spans due to high demand. The government are even part of the process actively encouraging travellers to stay domestic this summer. Matt Hancock the Health Secretary went on record saying "I’m going to Cornwall. And I have said before I think we’re going to have a great British summer."

However, we have had almost an entire year of false promise and misplaced hope so your safest bet is to book domestic and book early! There’s no doubt there are some stunning staycations in the U.K and if you’d like to enjoy a Summer break, you’re going to have to get a move on.
