Visit Mexico launches contest offering a year of free travel!

"We trade you a photo for a year of incredible experiences in Mexico."

Visit Mexico, the country's official tourist board recently launched an Instagram competition open to travelers from across the globe, where winners will receive a year of free travel for two people!

Open to all, the competition, aptly titled #InstaMexico, invites participants to share their best photo of the country, and the one that receives the most 'likes' will be declared the winner.

One of the world's most beautiful and fascinating destinations Mexico boasts a diversity of amazing landscapes and landmarks, from ancient pre-Columbian ruins to volcanic peaks, picture-perfect beaches, vast jungles, and vibrant cities brimming with history, culture, and some of the best cuisine on earth.

A hugely popular destination, the country attracted a record 45 million international tourists in 2019, though despite adopting relatively lenient border restrictions in comparison to much of the world, in 2020 saw inbound visitor numbers sink to nearly half of the previous year, whilst in-country leisure travel has also dropped dramatically which unsurprisingly has had a devastating impact on the country's tourism industry.

However, with vaccination programmes being rolled out across the world, and travel restrictions beginning to ease, many people are beginning to plan their next international trip, and the country's government are hoping this contest will inspire them to make Mexico the destination!
