Gardens and Parklands Given Green Light By National Trust To Re-Open

In a snippet directly from nationaltrust.org.uk the National Trust have revealed details on their plans to reopen parklands and gardens to the public.

On 29 May we will open bookings for some of our gardens and parklands, which will open from 3 June in line with government advice.

We will only open those where we are able to maintain social distancing. Our reopening will be phased and gradual. A small number of our properties will open initially, and over the coming weeks we will open more.

We ask all visitors to visit property web pages ahead of travelling for the latest information about what facilities are open and whether you need to book. Visitors to our gardens and parks must book beforehand.

All car parks and properties in Wales remain closed.”

On June 3rd approximately 29 parks will be set to reopen.

There will be a limited number of visitors allowed, estimated to be around 1/3rd the usual capacity with tickets required for entrance.

Given tourist attractions have been closed due to the restrictions set by the government, the National Trust stands to lose around 200 million pounds of revenue this year.

Hopefully the reopening of parks goes some way to restoring the national trusts standing, and gives the public something to feel optimistic about.
