The World’s Best Train Just Launched a Stunning New Route Through the Canadian Rockies!

“This experience takes you exclusively through the breathtaking highlights of the Canadian Rockies,” the company explains. “It’s about immersing yourself in the sparkling glacial lakes, ancient forests, and towering mountains that define the region.”
Travelers can choose to ride eastbound or westbound, beginning or ending in Banff or Jasper. Along the way, highlights include:
- Banff National Park and the charming town itself, set beneath the dramatic Cascade Mountain.
- Lake Louise, with its turquoise waters and the historic Fairmont Chateau (on select itineraries).
- Mount Rundle and Castle Mountain, with their waterfalls, glaciers, and fortress-like silhouettes.
- An overnight stay in the lakeside town of Kamloops, British Columbia.
- Pyramid Falls, accessible only by train.
- Mount Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
- And finally, Jasper National Park, with its pristine trails, hidden lakes, and the storied Jasper Park Lodge.

Rocky Mountaineer says the new route is being introduced in part due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Vancouver, which is expected to draw huge crowds. By offering “Passage to the Peaks,” they’re giving travelers a quieter — but no less spectacular — way to experience Canada next summer.
