All Aboard! The New Beer Train is Bringing Oktoberfest on Wheels from Rome to Munich!
What’s better than arriving at Oktoberfest? Starting the party before you even get there!
This autumn, a brand-new “beer train” will be chugging out of Rome, whisking thirsty travellers straight into the heart of Munich’s legendary festival — with pints already flowing en route.

The Espresso Monaco, run by Italian operator FS Treni Turistichi Italiani, promises 16 hours of Bavarian-themed fun: think ice-cold draft beer on tap, hearty German snacks, live entertainment, and (let’s be honest) plenty of drunken sing-alongs.
The train has everything from regular seats to couchettes and sleeper cabins — handy if you fancy a nap before tackling a few too many steins. And if Rome’s too far, don’t worry: the beer train also stops at Verona, Trento, Bolzano, Bressanone, Fortezza, Vipiteno, Colle Isarco and Brennero.

The best part? Tickets won’t drain your beer fund. One-way fares start at just €99 (£85) from Rome, with returns as low as €89 (£76). But act fast: there are only two departures — Friday September 26 and Friday October 3 (both at 8pm) — with return journeys on October 4 and 5.
With frothy pints, Bavarian bites, and a rolling pre-party, the Espresso Monaco proves the journey really can be as fun as the destination. Prost!
