Shocking Turn Of Events As TUI Cancel All Beach Holidays

Holiday cancellations have suddenly been extended by TUI.

In accordance with advice from the foreign office TUI has decided to cancel Summer holidays until July 10th at the very soonest. This too could be subject to change and further delays.

The initial protocol was for holidays to return with TUI on June 30th, but that’s now been axed.

In a statement on their website TUI said: “Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office currently advise against all but essential travel.

“We’d like to extend a personal thank you for your patience and understanding as our customer service and social media teams work around the clock during such an unprecedented time.

“We’ve been working behind the scenes to make a number of changes to our processes.

“These changes will make sure that we’re able to offer additional support to you going forward and will make managing your booking much easier for you.”

TUI also said through a spokesperson:

We are constantly monitoring the situation and will start taking people on holiday again as soon as we are able to do so.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have made clear that non-essential travel abroad is prohibited. The government has also issued a 14-day quarantine rule for all those (including British nationals) arriving in the country.

Those who break the quarantine laws, could be subject to a £1,000 fine.

Since TUI are the largest holiday package provider in England, it is another huge blow to the travel and tourism industry in the UK. However with borders being relaxed, camping sites opening and national heritage sites welcoming guests shortly, in the grand scale it seems to be 2 steps forward and only 1 step backwards for travellers.

A situation we can only be thankful for.
