Summer Is Nearing and UK Holiday Parks Are Preparing For Visitors

UK attractions and holiday parks are putting plans in place to welcome guests during the upcoming holiday season.

That’s EPIC news for most of us who are desperate for a getaway and with social distancing rules it may look a bit different from holidays gone by, but should nevertheless help us cope with cabin fever.

Haven (one of the largest holiday park companies), will reopen in the beginning of July.

Center Parcs expects to remain closed until June but is also planning ways in which they can maintain social distancing rules.

Matt Hancock recently states foreign holidays would be difficult this summer which means it’s likely more of us will be opting for a domestic trip instead.

Haven announced it’s stance on the current travel issues: “For guests who will be holidaying with us, we will be making a range of changes to our check-in process and limiting the number of guests staying on park at any time.”

Other holiday parks such as In the Broads National Park have also spoken on the current situation. Ian Russel the owner of Wroxham Barns said: “We are still awaiting guidelines from Visit England and the government on what social distancing operating requirements will look like.”

Travellers and holidaymakers have been confused without a clear message about the direction the country will take on travel in recent weeks.

Martyn James (from consumer complaints site Resolver) said: “Package holidays are covered by the Package Travel Regulations and you should be given a refund 14 days after the holiday is cancelled,”

“Bookings made directly are not part of a refund scheme set down in law. But your contract should cover what you are entitled to should the trip not be possible.

“In the absence of anything definitive, you may be best taking the vouchers if you can get in writing that you can cash them in for a refund at a later stage should you not want to travel.”
